Hear hear! The BBFS Football Trials have commenced, and we are at the beginning of an exciting journey for aspiring footballers across the country, yet again.
Following a resounding success in the 2022-23 season, during which we conducted 134 trials across more than 120 Indian cities and provided over 25,000+ young footballers with the opportunity to pursue their dreams, Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) is set to commence the football trials season once again for 2023-24.
Driven by a passion for discovering and nurturing football talent, BBFS conducts these nationwide trials to find promising players for its prestigious residential academy. Renowned as India’s largest and top-rated boarding school program dedicated to football excellence, the academy holds the coveted ‘Elite Academy’ status from the All India Football Federation. It is also proudly recognized by the Khelo India program, an initiative by the Ministry of Sports, Government of India.
In the latest episode of the Sporting Spree series by Enjogo, we discussed the football trials at BBFS, with none other than Divya Kurian, the Head of Residential Academies at Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools, and our charming host, Shruti Sapra.
Where Dreams Take Shape
The discussion kicks off with a deep dive into the BBFS Residential Academy project, which brings together all of the residential academies under one roof. With trials serving as the cornerstone of the selection process, it’s a high-stakes game where talent, determination, and passion collide. And these aren’t your run-of-the-mills tests – trials at BBFS are your golden ticket to large stadiums loudly echoing you to victory. BBFS is travelling the country, scouring every nook and cranny for undiscovered talent.
Accessible and Easy
But wait, there’s more. We’re not just sitting back and waiting for players and their parents to come to us—BBFS is bringing the trials straight to your fingertips. All you have to do is take a minute from the usual social media scrolling, download the Enjogo app from Apple/Play Store, and you’ll be notified about all the latest trials and updates. It’s now or never, and it’s easier than ever!
Additionally, attending trials in nearby cities is encouraged, because it offers flexibility and convenience to aspiring players.
Fostering Talent
Gathering insights on the philosophy of the selection process, the discussion covers how BBFS focuses on assessment over elimination. Coaches evaluate players based on various parameters such as technical, physical, tactical, emotional, and social skills. To put it simply, BBFS isn’t about weeding out the weak, but finding diamonds in the rough and polishing them to perfection. And every player gets a fair shot.
Furthermore, the trials serve as a platform to identify promising players, connect with coaches nationwide, and support deserving candidates who lack the means to afford the program. When we talk about inclusivity, we put it into action too, because we believe that football and the opportunities that come with it, should be accessible to anyone who deserves it.
When it comes to the age of students who want to get into the academies, BBFS likes to keep it open for players from grade 5 to grade 12. And if you’ve graduated high school, don’t sweat it! There’s a spot for you in the under-23 program. BBFS is all about inclusivity, and we’re continually trying to open more doors for people passionate about the game.
Have you got what it takes?
The thing about BFFS is that we’re on a mission to support deserving players and level the playing field for everyone, and we operate to achieve precisely that. So, remember, if you’ve got skills, the passion, and the grit; but lack the means, we’ve got your back!
Now the question is, are you ready to kickstart your football journey with the BBFS Residential Academy Program? Because the stage is set, the spotlight’s on you – all you have to go out there and show us what you’re made of!
