We’ve got some big news! Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools (BBFS) is thrilled to announce the launch of two brand new residential football academies in Karnataka and Punjab. The new campuses—Om Parkash Bansal Modern School (Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab) and Akash International School (Bengaluru, Karnataka)—are perfect for aspiring athletes who want to train at an elite level. If you’ve been dreaming of getting onto the pitch with advanced players and learning from top-tier Indian football coaches, this could be your big break. BBFS’s move is designed to give more student-athletes the chance to pursue their football dreams in a professional setting.
In an exciting development, BBFS has also teamed up with Southampton FC to launch these academies, a partnership that’s set to play a crucial role in developing football talent in these two new regions. The collaboration with the Premier League club brings world-class training programs and methodology, helping young, aspiring footballers in India get a taste of international football standards right here at home.
This partnership will help BBFS nurture young talents across India, giving them exposure to world-class training and opening doors to global opportunities.
Why Karnataka & Punjab?
BBFS is already well-known for its commitment to grassroots football, but these new academies were chosen with specific regions in mind. The decision to expand is a direct response to growing demand from parents and students. Although the BBFS Residential Academy in Delhi has long been a hub, starting a new program in Punjab opens a big opportunity for localites from the region to stay in their state and pursue football professionally. Siddharth Rawat, BBFS’s Head of Operations, is pretty stoked. “We saw a demand coming from the Punjab region. That’s why we partnered with Om Parkash Bansal Modern School in Gobindgarh, Mandi. It’s designed to be more accessible for families who want the best training without the challenges of relocating to Delhi.”
For the first time, the school will become a residential football academy, with BBFS’s first batch of students calling it home.
Down south, BBFS has teamed up with Akash International School in Bangalore’s Devanahalli area. The city’s already football-crazy, but BBFS’s new academy is set to take things to a whole new level., The new location in Devanahalli, offers convenience because it’s located near the airport”

What’s New at These Academies?
The new BBFS academies in Karnataka and Punjab follow the same structure as other BBFS locations, with a strong emphasis on building a competitive mindset. Bangalore, with its vibrant football scene, makes it easier for students to participate in local matches. “Kids need to know where they stand, and that only comes with competition,” the spokesperson said. Each player will have the opportunity to compete in at least 30 matches per season, providing them with the exposure needed to sharpen their skills and grow as footballers on various competitive platforms.
In Chandigarh, the new partnership is even more exciting, as it’s the first time the school will be offering a residential program. “Our kids will be the first set of hostellers,” Siddharth confirmed, adding that both academies are still in the early stages of preparing for admissions and parent visits starting in mid-October.
Each city brings something unique to the table. Chandigarh’s competitive spirit and Punjab’s deep-seated love for the game will foster a dynamic environment for young players to grow. In Bangalore, a city known for its robust football culture, students will benefit from regular, high-quality competitions that test their mettle and sharpen their skills.
At BBFS Residential Academy, students get more than just football training—they experience a balance of sports and academics, designed to help them grow on and off the field. The daily routine focuses on improving skills, building strength, and learning tactics, with plenty of time for rest. In a close-knit, team-oriented environment, students build camaraderie, discipline, and leadership With expert coaching, top facilities, and regular match play, BBFS gives young athletes everything they need to chase their football dreams
Enhancing the Training Experience
Although the infrastructure at these new academies will align with BBFS’s established standards, there is a focus on leveraging each location’s unique strengths. Chandigarh and Bangalore boast a vibrant culture for football competitions, with active participation across age groups, from U-13 to U-19. This environment will provide young athletes with ample opportunities to test their skills in a competitive setting.
Shaping the Future of Indian Football
These new academies are part of BBFS’s long-term vision to provide clear pathways for aspiring footballers. Chandigarh has been part of BBFS since 2015, and the new residential academy will help students in the area take their skills to the next level, with an eye on professional football.
In Bangalore, BBFS is already running one of its largest programs, second only to Delhi. By opening a residential academy here, they’re making it easier for local families to invest in their children’s football future without having to send them to other states.
